Funny thing about the natural disaster which are on the hit list right now involves all the past cities I've visited in these past few years. I did not realize it at first, till my sister and a good friend of mine mention it. LOL.
Despite of the odd coincidence, i feel really sad about these places as all 3 of them is one of the best places I've visited in my lifetime. well to summarize it all, here goes:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Brisbane
it is the land of the green and eco-friendly. people go out not caring much about what they wear, many choose to go out and chill with just their thongs, shirt and shorts, and some don't wear thongs at all, life is slow and steady, the city view along the river is beautiful, people are always smiling for good reasons, and they are always working towards a better community. I love the breeze of the air that you can feel while passing by the river along the Southbank area and the easy breezy life over there.
Christchurch
It is one of the most beautiful places in the world, the land area is so beautiful as it is so green and weather is nice even during summertime. the beautiful cathedral church in christchurch is an iconic building over there, a must place to take photo at. i like how most of the housing area over there is built in a one -storey design only and they are all different from one another. the people there grow beautiful roses and flowers at their housing compounds making it a very beautiful, cosy place to live in. a short 30 minutes drive from the city centre can take you to miles and miles of sheep and dairy cow farming area which is also another beautiful sight. While I was there I also pass through this one place which is sort of like a harbourside of Christchurch where the sea side along the mountain looks like a reflection from the sky. I felt like it was another stage of a heaven sight while looking at that.
Sendai
is a small city located on the northeast side of Japan, it is about 45 minutes train ride via shinkansen to Tokyo, the weather is super cold during winter time and i love this one food item called kamaboko made of fish (which i've learnt the method to prepare it while i was in my second year of uni, hence making the trip more interesting). there is also this one very nice spongy dessert filled with custard cream which is also Sendai main speciality of which i can't remember or recall the name at all. haha. I had a very nice inter-cultural experience while i visited Sendai. Got to try on a real Kimono and learn the Japanese Fisherman dance which is also known as the Sendai Fisherman's dance. Sendai is also popular of Matsushima a place where you can see a few small islands around the harbour. The temple that I visited here is one of the most beautiful as it is as admirable as the ones I've seen in Kyoto.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well i do know that things will get better in these areas, the work towards rebuilding Brisbane and Christchurch is currently going on, next should be Japan. but the thought of the many people being helpless and dying while it occur is just so devastating.
My next dream destination would be Istanbul and New York City. Istanbul because of its different culture and NYC because i really want to know what is so great about it, though deep down i got a feeling that i am going to get disappointed like the way i felt about Tokyo. For me big cities are all just sort of the same, govern by human dreams, places with culture and beautiful sights on the other hand are created by God are so different to one another. hence making it an eye opener :)
